House in Tamariu, 2009

Austerity is the premise of this house, where the quality of the materials and finishes are the main features. Here, the premises of an old business and an apartment have been turned  into a  house with a ground floor and a first floor. The space and functionality are the basic principles, as its owners use it as a summer meeting point of a large family. Therefore, the common areas are can accommodate a large number of people, and each room has its own bathroom.

The flooring throughout the house is polished concrete, a tough, strong material matching the overall style. In the bathrooms, sinks, tubs and showers are handmade and lime plastered, with a similar aspect to that of the floor. The white furniture with straight lines follow the prevailing minimalism and was especially designed for the house and manufactured by our carpenters.

As the house lacks outdoor areas, windows with tinted glass were fitted to provide more privacy and to impede the view from the outside. In addition, light tubes were installed; with a system of mirrors, they lead light from the roof to the interior of the rooms.
